Project 03 · Property
House of Lettings: a UK property rental platform.
Landlords list, tenants search and message, admins moderate — one Next.js 14 platform on Firebase Auth, Firestore and Storage.

01 ▸ Overview
Full-stack platform for House of Lettings.
House of Lettings is a UK lettings agency. Their platform lets landlords publish properties and tenants find them — a two-sided marketplace with an admin layer on top.
Landlords sign up, add listings with drag-and-drop multi-image upload, and manage them from a dashboard; properties go live the moment they are published. Tenants filter by location, price and bedrooms on a live Firestore subscription and message a landlord straight from the listing.
An admin panel handles the operational side — searching users and properties, approving or deactivating listings, and a top-line view of users, landlords, tenants, listings and chats.
02 ▸ What we built
The parts that do the work.
Multi-role authentication
Email/password sign-up with landlord or tenant role selection, a separate admin login, role-based redirects and persistent sessions.
Listings with image upload
Add, edit, deactivate and delete listings; multi-image drag-and-drop to Firebase Storage; instant publish.
Real-time search and filters
Firestore onSnapshot subscription with location, price and bedroom filters and a clear empty state.
In-app messaging
Tenant-to-landlord chat auto-created from the property page, with inboxes in both dashboards.
Admin console
